Men's Ministry

Our Mission
The mission of the United Methodist Men is to assist men to know Jesus Christ, to serve Him, to grow spiritually and seek daily to do his will. “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." Matthew 18:20.

Harold Hewitt Memorial Pancake Breakfast
The United Methodist Men and Cub Scout Pack 50 (which is sponsored by the United Methodist Men) co-sponsor this annual pancake breakfast fundraiser in the church gym. Food is cooked by the UMM and served by the Cub Scouts. All monies raised fund programs for the Cub Scouts and the UMM. When? First Saturday in March, come anytime between 6:30-10:30 a.m., CUMC Dining Room.

Weekly Intercessory Prayer Breakfast
The men of the church meet every Tuesday morning in the church dining room for breakfast, Christian fellowship and intercessory prayer. Come and join us! All men are welcome! When? Every Tuesday morning, 7-8 a.m., CUMC dining room.

Wide Open Friday! Men’s Breakfast
On the first Friday morning of each month, the United Methodist Men hosts Wide Open Friday, a “come, eat and go” breakfast for men of all ages. Our cooks get up early and prepare a great hot cooked breakfast (can you smell the fresh coffee, scrambled eggs and crisp bacon?) in a setting designed to appeal to men who want a hot breakfast, great guy-to-guy fellowship and an inspirational thought to take with you to begin the workday. When? First Friday of every month, drop by anytime between 6:30-7:30 a.m., CUMC dining room.

Monthly Membership Meeting
General membership meetings are held in the church dining room on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 8 a.m. Meetings usually last an hour and include a full hot breakfast, some club business and an interesting program. Examples of past programs include speakers from St. Jude Research Hospital, The Commercial Appeal, the YMCA, and the Memphis & Shelby County Crime Commission, just to name a few. When? Third Saturday of every month, 8-9 a.m., CUMC dining room.

Ronald McDonald House
The Ronald McDonald House of Memphis is a home-away-from-home for 51 children and families. Each of these families has a very brave child who is battling cancer and is receiving treatment at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The CUMC United Methodist Men visit the Ronald McDonald House for its June membership meeting. We cook breakfast and minister to the families, as well as deliver donated supplies to the Ronald McDonald House. For more information on the Ronald McDonald House of Memphis, visit its web site at www.rmhmemphis.org. When? Third Saturday morning of June.

Promise Keepers
it is a Christ-centered, national men's movement dedicated to igniting and uniting men to be passionate followers of Jesus Christ. A number of CUMC United Methodist Men attend annual Promise Keepers two-day conferences in the Mid-South (e.g., Memphis, Nashville, Jackson, MS), and we usually hold a golf scramble in the host city the Friday afternoon before the conference begins. For more information on Promise Keepers, visit its web site at www.promisekeepers.org. When? Weekend in late summer (July, August).

Cub Scout Pack 50
Cub Scout Pack 50 of Collierville – which has been in existence since 1967 – meets at Collierville United Methodist Church and is sponsored by the CUMC United Methodist Men. For more information on Cub Scout Pack 50, visit its web site at www.bsapack50.com
