Women's Ministry Events!

         

Women's Ministry Conference Featuring Celia Whitler

Saturday, February 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at CUMC. Featuring singer and songwriter Celia Whitler. Registration is $20 per person (includes lunch). Nursery provided. Last ticket sales and date to register: Sunday, February 12. Tickets will be sold after worship services, at WOW Wednesdays, and in the church office during the week.


Book Club

The book club is a group of women who enjoy reading and discussing a wide variety of books: fiction and non-fiction by both Christian and secular authors. Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month, August 2011 through May 2012, in the SAM Suite Room 100 in the Ministry Center.


Knitting Club

Once a month a morning and evening group meets to knit for different mission groups such as MIFA - hats, baby items for the Methodist hospital and sweaters for Guideposts.  The evening group meets every Wednesday in the Missions center at 6:30 p.m. Call Mary Crutchfield at 853-7291 if you have any questions.

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.  The Women's Division shall be actively engaged in fulfilling the mission of Christ and the Church  and shall interpret the purpose of United Methodist Women. With continuing awareness of the concerns and responsibilities of the Church in today's world, the Women's Division shall be an advocate for the oppressed and dispossessed with special attention to the needs of women and children; shall work to build a supportive community among women; and shall engage in activities that foster growth in the Christian faith, mission education, and Christian social involvement.
