  • My Presence
A commitment to be present in worship and other opportunities where they can grow in their faith.

What About My Children?

We take very seriously our commitment to partner with families in the process of nurturing children into the Christian faith. We believe it is one of the most important things we do as a community of faith. Children who have been baptized and who's parents join CUMC are called preparatory members. They are placed on our preparatory roll in anticipation of their participation in Confirmation. This class is held during the school year for 6th graders (or older students who have not been through Confirmation). Taught by our pastors, staff, and dedicated volunteers  Confirmands are introduced to the basics of the Christian faith and church membership. At the conclusion of confirmation, these young people are confirmed as full members of the church.

So What's the Next Step?

You may choose to join CUMC at any time. Be in touch with Rev. Deborah Suddarth, Executive Minister at (901) 853-8383 ext. 114 or dsuddarth@colliervilleumc.org and he will walk you through the process. You may also join CUMC at the conclusion of any worship service by speaking with one of our pastors during the closing hymn.
