Reelfoot Rural Ministries (RRM) in Obion, Tenn., is asking United Methodists to donate toys to brighten Christmas for many children in northwest Tennessee and southwest Kentucky.
A ministry of the Memphis Conference of the United Methodist Church, RRM serves people in need within four counties: Lake, Obion and Dyer counties in Tennessee and Fulton County in Kentucky.
For the past several years, RRM has collected items for its Christmas Toy Store, an event allowing parents of low-income families to shop for inexpensive Christmas presents. Through the store, parents may purchase five new toys for younger children or three new items for teenagers. No family pays more than $15.
RRM Executive Director Rev. Robert Craig says last year, the store helped provide 700 families and 1,230 children with Christmas gifts.
To fill its Christmas Toy Store, RRM operates a toy drive before the Christmas season, asking United Methodists to donate new and unwrapped items for various ages. Click here for a list of recommended toys.
Gifts can be brought to worship or left in the Mission Center. Please do not gift wrap or remove price tags. Thank you!
