Collierville United Methodist Church is a PRAYING CHURCH!!!
Here are a number of the ways you might become a part of our Care & Prayer Ministries:
- Card Ministry
Through writing cards, we share love, support, care and prayer with those who have been ill, home-bound or on the prayer list. We meet each Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in Room 100. To help write cards in Christ’s love, contact Ruth Walters at (901) 827-4584 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Casserole Ministry
Nothing speaks of love more than a homemade casserole and bread delivered when you most need it. To cook and/or deliver, contact Ginny Slover, 901-853-1401 or email@example.com.
- Flower Ministry ~ Flowers brighten any day and are a tangible sign of God's love and ours to homebound members. To help arrange or deliver Sunday's flowers from our Sanctuary on Monday morning, call or email Jane Coward at 901-652-3285 or Jelizabethm07@hotmail.com.
- Knitting for Missions
This group of energetic and compassionate women meet twice weekly to knit and crochet prayer shawls , pocket prayer squares, baby items for local hospitals, and scarves and hats for homeless persons and needy Collierville Elementary students. Meetings include prayer and devotionals. Beginners are always welcome. Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. ~ Contact Norene Ritchey, 853-2748. Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. ~ Contact Mary Crutchfield, 853-7291.
- Prayer Ministry
Lifting individuals before God in prayer each day, the Prayer Ministry Team seeks God’s healing, comfort, guidance, love, compassion, and presence. To be a part of the prayer team or to submit a prayer request, contact Bobbie McCarty at PrayerMinistry@colliervilleumc.org.
- Prayer Room
Located at the end of the hallway to the right of the Poplar Sanctuary, past the room for nursing mothers or crying babies, provides a quiet location to reflect and pray. Prayer cards, the church prayer list, Bibles and prayer shawls are available to assist with your prayer life.
- The Circle
Are you on your own? After experiencing the great loss of a husband or wife life may often seem meaningless, incomplete, and lonely. A new support group called The Circle is in full swing. We invite you to join us as together we support one another in love and move forward in life with Christ’s joy and purpose. The group meets once a month at a home for a pot luck meal and fellowship. Please contact Marcia Nanney at 901-212-6121 or firstname.lastname@example.org to find out when and where the next meeting will be held.
- Visitation Ministry
Visits to our homebound members are a joy for both the visitor and the visited. Stories shared, laughter and tears, and prayer are all a part of this ministry. To request a visit or become a visitor, contact Ruth Walters at (901) 827-4584 or email@example.com.
Send us a prayer request anytime and our team will be happy to pray for you.
